What (or who) inspired you to become a nurse? What motivated you to join home health?:
My inspiration came from my nursing school instructors. The more I learned about the craft of nursing the more I wanted to pursue it as my lifelong profession. My teachers, all Nurses, were very inspirational. I thank them for sharing their love for the profession and in turn igniting my passion.
What do you love most about being a part of the BAYADA family?:
I have been part of the BAYADA Family for more than 33 years. I thank Mark and David for always appreciating and respecting the value that nursing brings to the delivery of excellent care. To provide care in someone’s home is so intimate, and my observation is that home is a place where someone can thrive beyond what they could have imagined. I love being able to experience this and show other nurses it is a place where you can practice both the art and skill of nursing the way it was meant to be. Unfortunately, that is not the case in other clinical settings today.
What do you do for fun and to de-stress? :
I am a cyclist I love to cycle with my husband. I recently moved to DE and there are so many great cycling paths here and in our neighboring state MD.
What do you love most about being a nurse? :
So many things….The one thing that I Love the most is the opportunity to work with and empower my fellow nurses. BAYADA fosters a culture to care about each other and I have the honor and privilege to work in a space where I get to do just that every single day and for that I feel truly blessed.
Is there anything else you’d like to share? :
Happy Nurses week. and to my fellow nurses, reach for your dreams this profession offers so many wonderful opportunities. Believe in yourself and go for it!!
